I am a UKCP Trainee Psychotherapist, and I have been doing this training for over five years now because I feel passionate about this work. In addition to seeing clients privately, I work as a Trainee Psychotherapist with FreshStart Psychotherapy (a charity) in London. I am currently a student of the fifth year of a post-graduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy at CCPE, London. I also have a Certificate in Counselling Skills from MHCPC, London. My psychiatric observational placement was at Baldock Manor Hospital, Hertfordshire (in 2019).
Prior to beginning my training as a psychotherapist, I have had a wide exposure in life: I have studied a master’s degree in engineering, worked in the corporate sector, authored three books of poetry, written poetry book reviews, been a member of a few international arts and conflict transformation NGOs, and read Buddhist philosophy for over ten years.
I still maintain a passionate interest in the arts. I am often curious to explore how poetry, independent cinema, music and the arts can be used in the psychotherapeutic process of healing, growth and integration.(UKCP = United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy)
